The NV (2009) Brut Blanc de Blancs Hugues de Coulmet is an excellent and representative wine for the vintage. Pears, flowers and sweet, subtle spices flow effortlessly from the glass. Soft and textured throughout, the Hugues de Coulmet is a delicious, entry-level Champagne that impresses for its overall harmony and pure balance. The Hugues de Coulmet emerges from vineyards in Sezanne and is the only Moncuit wine not made from Mesnil fruit. Dosage was 9 grams per liter. Disgorged June 2012. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2016.
Wine Spectator: 89 Points
Ripe apricot and apple fruit notes mix with hints of biscuit, orange zest, orchard blossom and slivered almond in this balanced blanc de blancs, with a lightly mouthwatering finish. Disgorged December 2012
