This deeply hued beauty offers a stunning bouquet of blackberries, scorched earth, licorice, ground pepper, and sappy garrigue. I always find a Burgundian-like texture on this wine, and the 2020 is no exception - this is one to put into a blind tasting of Grand Cru Red Burgundies and shock your friends. Medium to full-bodied, ultra-pure, with grippy, sappy tannins, flawless balance, and a great finish, it's pure class all the way. It's going to need at least 4-6 years of bottle age, but this is a wine you don't want to miss, and one of the finest wines I've tasted from this estate.
Wine Spectator: 94 Points
Boasts beautiful red currant, licorice and spice cake flavors that are concentrated and rich, yet balanced by salty minerality, earth and fresh pepper highlights. Shows smoke and singed sandalwood that fill in the backdrop, while graphite laces the still-grippy finish. This needs a bit of time to unfurl. Best from 2024 through 2035.
