Chateau de Rouanne - Vinsobres Guerin 2019
Chateau de Rouanne Description
Guerin offers a truly captivating personality: complex and charming, with a mesmerizing softness. Beautiful flavors of marzipan, blackberries and wild violets marry with the characteristic salinity and mineral freshness of the Rouanne vineyard.
Food Pairing
The distinctive freshness and saltiness of this Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre blend makes it easy to pair with both rustic and sophisticated dishes. The smooth, red-fruit character of the wines make it a great choice for tomato-based dishes such as ratatouille, while the richness from the Syrah also allow it to pair with lamb, venison or beef.
Jeb Dunnuck: 92 Points
The Grenache-dominated single vineyard 2019 Vinsobres Lieu-Dit Guerin is brilliant as well. Concentrated, medium to full-bodied, and opulent, it has lots of red and black fruits, plenty of peppery herbs and meaty nuances, terrific balance, and outstanding length. It’s another gorgeous wine from this talented winemaker, and this is an estate to watch.
Wine Spectator: 92 Points
Rich and warm in style, with a velvety flow to the mix of violet, plum paste, black currant compote and licorice root notes, while a tarry edge flows underneath. Ends with grippy texture and extra hints of bay leaf and tobacco amid the fruit. Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre.
