Bryant Family - Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley 2015
Bryant Family Description
A true expression of the Pritchard Hill terroir, Bryant Family Cabernet Sauvignon was first released in 1992 and is culled solely from grapes gown on the estate’s 13-acre vineyard. This First Growth wine conveys the long winemaking history of the region, a confluence of climate and soil as well as a team of experts committed to nurturing its creation.
Wine Advocate: 97-99 Points
Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon is closed and largely unyielding at this very youthful stage. With coaxing, it offers up black cherries, crushed blackberries and mulberries notes with hints of pencil lead, damp soil, truffles, licorice and dark chocolate plus a waft of cigar boxes. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is as tight as anything, displaying a rock-solid backbone of taut, grainy tannins and plenty of freshness to support the muscular fruit, finishing with earth and mineral layers. This is a stunning wine that really will need a good 4-5 years in bottle, at least, and should give much pleasure over the next 25-30 years. This was tasted as a barrel sample.
Vinous Media: 95 Points
The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon is the most successful of Bryant's 2015s. Rich, sumptuous and exotically ripe, the Estate nevertheless maintains the size, shape and freshness that made the 2014s here so extraordinary. Expressive floral notes and red-toned fruit notes give the 2015 enough brightness to play off the naturally ripe, succulent fruit. The 2015 will start to drink well in another few years, once the aromatics develop more nuance. All things considered, this is a terrific wine in a very challenging vintage.
