Our Shipping & Delivery Policy |
We ship nationwide where permitted by law. Shipping costs are calculated based on your order size and zip code at the time of purchase. We try to get orders filled within 24 hours of them being placed. We often use a common carrier for shipments which may add a couple of days on to the delivery time depending on your state's laws.
During extreme weather conditions we may hold or you may request to have your wines held in our temperature controlled warehouse at no additional charge. We will try to monitor the national weather prior to shipping but it is ultimately the customer's responsibility to request a later ship date if the weather is not safe for shipping. Wine that is spoiled in transit due to weather is not the responsibility of Central Wine Merchants unless such a request was made and overlooked.
The Signature of an adult over the age of 21 is required on all shipments. We recommend shipping to a business address or a friend's if you are not sure you will have someone to sign. Any special request to deliver during a time window is out of our control and up to the delivery carrier. After three unsuccessful attempts the package will be returned to us. We will then contact you to reship, however there is an additional shipping fee for reshipments.
Shipping to hotels and such are done at the buyer's risk. We cannot assume responsibility for packages delivered to hotels that do not reach the buyer.
Title to, and ownership of, all wine passes from Central Wine Merchants to the purchaser in the State of New Jersey and the purchaser takes all responsibility for the shipping of it from New Jersey to his/her home state. By arranging for transportation of the wine via common carrier we are providing a service to, and acting on behalf of the purchaser. You will be billed for this service. By utilizing this service the purchaser is representing that he/she is acting in a fashion compliant with his/her local and state laws regarding the purchase, transportation and delivery of wine. The purchaser represents that he/she has obtained any required permission, paid any required fees, is working through properly licensed intermediaries where required, is legally entitled to take possession of wine and is legally entitled to take quantities ordered and once again authorizes that he/she is 21 years of age.
